Deception Island, sounds like a great place for Villa Vie Residences to have a head office.

Fantastic writing again. If you ever make Falmouth, England I’ll buy you a pint of mediocre Cornish beer.

Theroux's writing was also a big influence for me for my own travels. Love how you reference bad travels for great travel writing, so true and how you pull back the veil on Villa Vie. I am a huge fan of the idea and the venture but the fact that management refuses to acknowledge or address the issues is such a missed opportunity. Thank you for your honesty and integrity.

The ONLY thing I don't like about your blog is that it isn't daily. I absolutely love it.

Loving the blog and your commentary - just hoping the Odyssey won't keep giving you such easy material! :)

I'm starting to worry for you as you appear to be The Last One Standing. After the poorly thought out action of kicking Jenny and Bonny off the cruise without compensation and then sending that Cease and Desist Letter full of quite ludicrous and easily disprovable points to intimidate and silence a very small YouTuber, Backroads Tourist (or who in VV terms is He Who Shall Be Nameless), you are the only one speaking about things the company desperately wants to hide from the potentially purchasing public. I hope you are developing a strategy to counteract any unwise actions the company might unleash on you next.

I hope you are able to continue to enjoy the good parts of the cruise as well as tolerate its many failings and foibles. I also hope Odyssey is able to maintain their 2 month itinerary in the US. The US Coastguard database thus far shows no contact initiated from VV to start the process. Tick Tock.

Thank you for your writings. Long may they continue.

I think the odds are better than they used to be, but still probably around 50-50.

There are rumors circulating that Fong bought a pair of steam-resistant earplugs and a well-padded kneeler after listening to your HyperFixed interview.

Better don your cheerleader costume, Joe. 😉

Your blog is the best!

Loved Theroux when I was in my budget backpacking days. I think my fave was Riding the Iron Rooster, but yeh..he was a miserable guy despite (in my mind) living the dream. I’m a lot older now, and cruising the world is the only pace/comfort level I want to travel at now, so I’m kinda hoping VV can get their act together and look more like a company I would trust with my money

Love your candid, and beautifully written, takes on the VVR adventure! It’s quite refreshing after the perpetually positive vlogs that dominate YouTube. They did provide, however, some spectacular views of the countless glaciers. Seems a secret that Alaska doesn’t want to get out!

FYI your friend—Kneeling Steam Ears—is not currently listed on Forbes real-time list of billionaires. I don’t see anything that indicates he ever was one. Anticipate full prone position on his next visit.

Love reading about your adventures as I enjoy a refreshing beverage on a sunny 70-degree February day in Texas. You so vividly describe the scenery that I can stay tucked away in the God-forsaken hellscape here in the USA. Safe travels!

THIS is why I love your writing so, so much. More, please🤞🔥
